BIO

Peter Scupelli is an Associate Professor of Design, Chair of the Design Studies track, and Director of the Learning Environments Lab in the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University. Peter’s current research focus is on learning environments, design futures, and zero-carbon transitions. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Peter’s training and career path link architecture, interaction design, and human-computer interaction research. Peter was the Nierenberg Associate Professor of Design from 2019 to 2022 and Visiting Professor in Design at the Politecnico di Milano (2022-2024). He is co-founder of Global Design Futures Network.
