BIO

Xiaoying Tu is an Associate Teaching Professor at Carnegie Mellon University with a joint appointment in Heinz College and Dietrich College. He teaches classes at both undergraduate and graduate levels on database management and data engineering , and serves as a faculty advisor for the undergraduate Information Systems Student Consulting Project course. His research focuses on innovative pedagogical approaches in Information Systems education, as well as the economics of disruptive technologies and digital piracy in entertainment industries. Xiaoying received a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Management and a Master of Information Systems Management, both from Carnegie Mellon University. He also earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and worked as an IT analyst at Singapore Telecommunications before coming to the U.S.
