Joelle Pitts

Joelle Pitts is Senior Associate Dean of the CMU Libraries. Joelle has been with CMU since February of 2020. Her portfolio includes Access Services, Technical Services, Cataloging, Business Office, Finance/Budget, Facilities, HR, Assessment/Reporting, Operations, and Technology Support for the Libraries. Previously she served as the head of the Content Development and Academic Services departments of the Kansas State University Libraries. Joelle holds masters degrees in library science and business administration. She is a founder and board member of the award-winning New Literacies Alliance. Joelle’s research areas include: distance education and e-learning theory, design, and assessment; inter-institutional collaboration; collection assessment; as well as the intersections of scholarly communication and information literacy.
