BIO
I am an Associate Professor of Human-Computer Interaction and the Director of HCI Undergraduate Programs at Carnegie Mellon University. I also direct the Social AI Group at CMU. My research has secured over twelve million dollars in funding through multiple programs at the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Mental Health, TelePerformance(TP), Amazon, Google, Meta (formerly Facebook), ZS, Toyota Research Institute (TRI), and various industry sponsors. My research has an h-index of 41. I have received 14 best paper–type awards at venues such as CHI, CSCW, Human Factors, and CHIWORK, as well as honors including Pittsburgh’s 40 Under 40 and the Allen Newell Award for Research Excellence.
