I design courses by aligning the instructional goals of the course with the assessments students complete and the instruction they receive. I create assessments that provide immediate and relevant feedback to students whenever possible. My instruction is example-focused with many modalities of active learning, such as live coding, student pair coding, “clicker” quizzes, think-pair-share activities, and reflection prompts.
