Jessica Benner

Jessica is the GIS and Mapping Librarian and a library liaison to Engineering and Public Policy, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Philosophy, and Information Networking Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. She is the current President of the Western Association of Map Libraries, an organization for map and GIS librarians and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Map and Geography Libraries. Jessica's current interests include developing best practices for teaching geography and GIS concepts in libraries, exploring the best way to collect and share data on the accessibility of public places, and building capacities for digital accessibility in libraries. She holds an MLIS and PhD in Library and Information Science and an MS in GIS and Remote Sensing, all from the University of Pittsburgh.
