BIO
My group develops computational cameras for solving inverse problems in computer vision and imaging, especially as pertaining to estimating shape, reflectance, material composition and illumination in a scene. We design novel imaging and illumination systems that exploit degrees of freedom provided by the co-design of optics and algorithms to improve the tractability and conditioning of imaging and vision problems. This research is complemented by education and outreach efforts that focus on learning and research experiences for a wide gamut of students in K-12, undergraduate and graduate school.
