BIO

I received an A.B. in physics from the University of California in 1989, and a Ph.D. in astronomy and astrophysics from the University of Chicago in 1997. Prior to working at Carnegie Mellon, I was a scientific programmer for the Chandra X-ray Telescope mission, specializing in the development and integration of advanced data analysis methods. I have been at CMU since 2004, working closely with faculty and students at both CMU and Pitt on astronomical data analysis problems.
