Alex Grelli

Alex Grelli has served as a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor to middle-market companies and as a Consulting Advisor with Strala Vox. He previously practiced as a corporate attorney and entrepreneur before joining Carnegie Mellon University as an Distinguished Service Professor of Law and Entrepreneurship.

Over a 12-year period, Alex founded and operated two family-run alcohol beverage manufacturing and distribution companies alongside his wife. He co-led the companies’ growth through a successful exit and managed the transition to new ownership.

Earlier in his career, Alex was part of the Corporate and Investment Management Group at Reed Smith LLP, where he advised investment advisors and investment companies on regulatory, compliance, and governance matters related to debt, equity, and commodity offerings and investments.

Alex has also served as a consulting advisor to numerous privately held companies, supporting growth projections, profitability analysis, operational optimization, and input sourcing. His experience spans highly regulated industries, including successfully lobbying for regulatory changes that materially reshaped an industry, managing complex USDA organic certifications, and navigating associated supply-chain constraints. He has led real estate investments and development projects and is an active investor in startup companies.
