With extensive expertise in energy transition, climate change, nuclear energy, and sustainable development, Duygu is committed to advancing sustainable solutions that align with today’s most pressing global challenges. Holding a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations from Koç University, her research and projects have spanned regions and sectors, allowing her to bridge academic insight with real-world impact.

Duygu offers a dynamic skill set suited for policymaking, consultancy, multidicsiplinary projects, and university roles. She collaborates with private-sector entities and institutions, delivering specialized executive trainings in sustainability, energy transition, and climate change. Engaging as a mentor, consultant, lecturer, and active member of numerous global initiatives, she brings both thought leadership and hands-on expertise to every project.

Her special expertise on nuclear energy stems from her PhD dissertation titled “Domestic and Global Context of Energy Preferences: Explaining Choices for the Nuclear Option,” honored with the “Academic Excellence Award”. Her findings focus on the dynamics which constitute the pushing and constraining factors that affect a country’s decision to engage in nuclear energy generation.

Her research agenda addresses the nexus of climate change, geopolitics and international relations with numerous book chapters and articles on topics including energy security, natural gas, energy transition in MENA region, human security and sustainability, as well as policy briefs and reports published by major think tanks and research institutions including IFRI, ISPI and Global Relations Forum.

Duygu’s experience includes roles as the Regional Academic Coordinator for Executive Master in Development Policies and Practices in Conflict and Fragility Management at Geneva Graduate Institute, Visiting Researcher at IFRI (Institut Français des Relations Internationales) - Center for Energy in Paris, France, and participation in high-impact international projects like the EU Horizon 2020 FEUTURE Energy and Climate Drivers Project. Currently she is a Post-Doctoral Associate at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, working on a project on sustainable development, funded by Qatar National Research Fund under National Priorities Research Program.

Passionate about sustainable development and climate action, Duygu is eager to connect with institutions looking for strategic consulting, impactful research, faculty roles or targeted training programs.
